Long road ahead

Jul 4, 2019-

Graduating SEE is only a step forward to achieving your goals in life. Many students have dreams and aspirations about their future and academic and professional career. This is the time where you discover yourselves and explore the opportunities.

The Post asked recent SEE graduates about how they plan to move ahead. Here are some excerpts:

Niraj Baral, 16

Triyog High School

I am a recent SEE graduate from Triyog High School. I passed my examination with a 3.95 GPA. I want to join St Xaviers College and study Science. My parents also are very supportive of my decision on my choice of college and course.

Everyone dreams of achieving big things in life and so do I. I think I have already taken my first steps to achieve my dream of joining the medical profession. I’m very happy with my SEE result and can’t wait to begin college. All that I have achieved so far is because of my parents. They have been very supportive of all my decisions and have helped me in every step of the way.

Aakarshan Neupane, 16

Nobel Academy School

Before sitting for my SEE I would think about the many professions I could choose from. But now I know what I want to be—I aspire to become a chef and plan to study Hotel Management. I know this field of study has a great scope for me and I can practice my trade all over the world. It has been rather difficult for me to convince my parents but they are supportive. I know it’s not a conventional choice for most but I will work hard to achieve my dream. I want to be able to travel abroad taking my skills wherever I go. I took part in MR SEE Nepal and became the 1st runner-up which bagged me a 50 percent  scholarship for my studies. I will not let it go to waste.

Swopnil Pandey, 16

Bhrihaspati Vidyasadan

I passed my SEE from Bhrihaspati Vidyasadan, Naxal with a 3.65 GPA. I believe I could’ve done better but I’m happy with what I’ve achieved. I joined A Levels at Little Angels College a month before my results came out and at this point I’m not sure about what I want to do in the future in terms of my career. However, I’m currently studying Science since I think it will help me have a holistic approach to life and widen the choice of universities I will have at my disposal. I’m not an escapist and even if this line of study doesn’t work for me in the future, I shall give my best to live up to the challenge.

Smriti Baisnab, 15

Greenpeace Co-ed School

I am a fresh SEE graduate and I am now in the threshold of my career choices which will determine my future. Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated by the “white coats” doctors wear which for me showed me their dedication towards the medical field. I always aspired to be one of them; therefore, I will be studying Science with a focus on Biology.

Dr Sanduk Ruit is my inspiration; his passion and hardwork has always pushed me to do something for my country. Keeping his example in mind, I will also walk down the path of medicine. I believe that if we give our 100 percent we will be successful in the career we choose.

I am so grateful that my parents support me in my decision to become a doctor and it is their trust in me that has given me the confidence to aim so high.

Ribisha Nepal, 16

Shree Amar Secondary English Boarding School

I studied at Shree Amar Secondary English Boarding School in Belbari 8,  Morang. I passed my SEE with a 3.65 GPA this year. I want to study Business Studies and Management in my High School because I want to be a banker. I think studying management will show me the way towards my goal. My plan is to join Kavre Multiple College, Budol, in Kavre as the college is close to my house. Also, it is a good reputed college and offers a variety of management courses at an affordable price.

Nobel Niraula, 16

East Pole Secondary School

I am 16 years old and I studied at East-Pole Secondary School. I passed my SEE this year with a 3.65 GPA. After completing SEE, I was not sure about my future course of action but I am planning to take up Science because I think the subject will be helpful for me in choosing a career in Information Technology. After High School I plan to pursue Information Technology and become an IT Engineer.

Safal Acharya, 16,

Little Angels School

I got a 3.65 GPA in the recent SEE. Currently, I’m taking commerce courses in A-levels at Little Angels at Hattiban. I am taking these courses because I’m more interested in studying management than science. In the future, I want to work in the film industry and hopefully become a director. I’ve been dabbling in photography for the past two years and have grown fond of cinema and photography. Not only have I been taking photographs but I have also been covering events. My brother is a videographer and I think seeing him and his work has inspired me to pursue photography.

Prakrity Khanal, 16

Kathmandu Newcastle Secondary School

I got a 3.75 GPA in my SEE. Now, I’m planning to take up Plus Two Science at Xavier Academy. I think that studying Science would open up roads to more career opportunities. My seniors in school suggested that I take science because of my high GPA and my parents are also supportive of this decision. However, I probably won’t continue down this path after high school as I feel like I’m more interested in Humanities. I have always had an interest in literature and communication and I plan to pursue that.

Yesika Dangol, 15

Little Angels School

I have worked hard this past year to get a 3.7 GPA in my SEE. Now, I’m planning to take up different science courses which I have always been interested in. Ever since my childhood, science has always fascinated me. It was my brother, a software engineer who inspires me to study IT in the future. I used to spend a lot of my time on YouTube watching videos related to computers and playing computer games, and that makes me want to pursue IT. My parents are very supportive of my decision. To pursue IT, I would need physics and therefore, I’m planning to study Plus Two Science course in Little Angels.

Aayush Neupane, 15

Balkalyan Boarding Secondary School, Birtamod

I passed SEE this year with a 3.15 GPA. For my Plus Two I’m planning to study in Birtamod and take up management courses. Over the years, especially since the 9th grade I have grown interested in business and plan to follow my interest. I was inspired by seeing different people running their own businesses. I would be the first person in my family to be in this profession and that is something that I like the sound of. I’m not certain of the specific sector of business but I’ll think about that once I graduate from college.
