4 arrested for gang rape of 16-year-old girl in Syangja

Police have arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in gang raping a 16-year-old girl in Syangja on Friday.

Three of the suspects have been identified as Bijay Shrestha and Anjan Shrestha of Shuklagandaki-4, Tanahun district and Bikram Rai of Pipalmadi Rural Municipality-3, Sindhuli district currently residing in Shuklagandaki.

According to a preliminary investigation, they telephoned the girl and called her at Cheudanda in Biruwa Rural Municipality-5 on the day of Maghe Sankranti and raped her.

Inspector Bijay Kumar Singh said that a team deployed from the District Police Office, Syangja, arrested the suspects from various places of the district who were on the run after committing the heinous crime.

Singh said that PrashantThapa of Shuklagandaki Municipality-5, Tanahun district was the one who had telephoned the victim.

Police have impounded the bikes (Ga 4 Pa 4395 and Ga 4 Pa 7907) used by the suspects.
